Protect your motorcycle and keep it safe – Storm Eunice is coming!

A rare red weather warning – the highest level – has been issued for parts of south-west England and south Wales on Friday, meaning there is a danger to life from flying debris.

The Met Office warned Storm Eunice could bring gusts of up to 90mph, causing significant disruption. Damage to homes, cancelled trains and power cuts are also likely. Many schools are closing as a precaution.

The red warning is in place from 07:00 GMT until 12:00 GMT on Friday.

Storm Eunice and how to protect your motorcycle – here are a few pieces of advice on how to keep your motorcycle safe during this weather event

  1. Try not to park your motorcycle or scooter under or near the trees.
  2. Falling branches can damage your vehicle.2. Avoid using bike covers in strong winds as they can flip your bike when picked up by wind.
  3. Dismantle your top box any any other luggage from the motorbike.
  4. If possible, switch off your alarm as it will go off more often and can drain your battery.
  5. Make sure you park your machine on a flat and stable surface.
  6. Look around to make sure there are no objects which can be picked up by wind and damage your bike, such as: trash bins, garden furniture, etc.
  7. PLEASE AVOID RIDING THE BIKE – IT COULD BE DANGEROUS!
